contributing to an industrial evolution
The chemical industry is too big for a revolution. Our purpose is to help it evolve.
From our base in Stockholm, our ambition is to play a key role in tackling climate change — both by accelerating the industry’s transition to sustainability, and by innovating solutions for other industries through novel chemical products.
Enablingbiomanufacturing
The enginzyme story begins in 2014, with a patented enzyme immobilization technology that would enable biomanufacturing — without living organisms. This revolutionary material works with any enzyme and can be deployed using similar tools and techniques to those used in traditional chemical manufacturing, with lower costs and a much smaller environmental footprint.
An agile,global team
Enginzyme has built a 50+ person team with more than 20 nationalities, and created a full-service technology platform that can serve customers globally. Most of our staff work on one of our four R&D teams: Enzyme Engineering; Biocatalysis; Automation and Data Management; and Process Engineering.
Karim Cassimjee
CEO & Co-Founder
Karim is the inventor of enginzyme’s foundational technology, and co-founded the company in 2014. He holds a PhD from KTH and a Postdoc from Stockholm University.
Fredrik Olrog
CFOO
With over 20 years of experience, Fredrik co-founded two companies focused on renewable energy and circular economy. He served as CEO and is still on the board. Fredrik studied at Harvard Business School and has a Master of Economics from Stockholm University.
Karl Johan Tärbe
Vice President Commercial
With 20 years of experience, Karl Johan’s background spans from M&A to various commercial roles within industrial biotech. Prior to joining Enginzyme he headed up Forest Products at Novozymes, promoting enzymatic solutions to the global P&P industry. Karl Johan holds an LL.M. from Lund University.
Marco Antonio Saucedo
Vice President R&D
Marco has 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, with operational, engineering, and research roles at BASF, CEMEX, Johnson Matthey, and Silicon Valley start-up Rennovia. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Cambridge University.
